Following my life-long passion, I have been working in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2006. I served as an ECE teacher for 12 years in Queen Mary daycare, one of the most well-known centers in North Vancouver located in Queen Mary Elementary School. I also worked in several other centers in North and West Vancouver, including Highlands Early Learning Centre. It has been a tremendously joyful and rewarding experience to work with children alongside their families. I firmly believe that each child is unique and special in their own way, which requires a deep understanding of their behavioural patterns, interests, and capacities.
Running my own childcare was a long passion of mine. I always believed in high-quality and affordable childcare. The commitment towards creating such an environment for children to be able to flourish happily and successfully in their lives has been an infinite source of motivation for me. I’m deeply proud and inspired to be able to channel my energy and passion to my own daycare. This has allowed me to utilize my knowledge and experience that I have gained over the many years in the field to create a unique space with a great variety of equipment and a diverse set of programs for children to receive the quality of early childhood education that they all deserve. |
Testimonies
“My daughter was in a group daycare setting with Sunny for over a year, and I can’t say enough about how wonderful Sunny was with my daughter and the other kids in her care. Sunny is always thoughtful, kind, and warm. She always encourages the children to explore and learn, while teaching them about manners and to have respect for themselves and those around them.”
“Sunny made sure the older children were kind and patient with my son as he was the youngest in their group. While Sunny was mindful to introduce educational components to the daily activities, she placed strong emphasis on social skills. The children were expected to use their manners, to communicate, to problem solve with her assistance. She used to get down to their level and ask questions with calm tone to resolve whatever the issue was.” “There was a non-verbal child who required a lot of patience as she used to get really frustrated at not being able to communicate. Under Sunny and her team’s guidance, the child was completely verbal in two years. I know Sunny worked hard with the parents and her mom once mentioned that Sunny had not just helped her daughter, but she has saved the mother’s life as she had been in despair before coming to the daycare.” “From the very beginning, Sunny struck me as a professional with a high sense of responsibility, as well as genuine love and care for the children. I have always admired her observation skills, her care in her work, and her excellent rapport with the children and their families. As a first-time mom, I had many questions about child care and development, and I found Sunny a reliable source of information and support, and as such, I often consulted her with my child care questions.” “Always calm, cheerful, very patient and accommodating, Sunny helped with a seamless transition into the full-time daycare program, and afterwards into Kindergarten, for all children in her group. My daughter never cried when dropped off, and never complained about the preschool schedule, activities or any of the assigned tasks or learning projects. Left in Sunny's arms early in the morning, she quickly found the energy to play and start the daily routine, which she thoroughly enjoyed and was proud of.” “Sunny communicated very well with parents, addressed all concerns, and provided updates or appropriate feed-back in a gentle manner, when needed. She was very approachable and easy to talk to. Both parents and children respected and looked up to Sunny. Her students learned very much in a warm friendly 'space', while kept organized, under control, and safe. [...] She molds and adapts activities, giving personal attention to each and every individual, while holding structure and setting clear rules and boundaries.” |
